Course content:-
Working/Characteristics, Testing & Applications of Resistors, VDR, LDR, Thermistors, Capacitors; Diode; Zener Diode; LED, Photodiode, phototransistor, photo voltaic cell; Transistors; SCR, DIAC, TRIAC; UJT, FET, MOSFET. 
PRACTICALS:-
Practicals are conducted on Laybold Instrumentation Panel.

LOGIC CIRCUITS & CONTROL OF AC MOTORS

Course  contents:-
Basics of Digital Electronics: Logic Gates, Flip-Flops, Counters, Shift registers.
Logic Circuits for Control of motors: ON, OFF, inching/jogging, forward, reverse, and intermediate holding.
Development of functional logic for control of motors.
PRACTICALS:-
Practicals are conducted on Laybold Instrumentation Panel & Siemens make LOGO PLC.

BASIC AC MOTOR CONTROLS

Course contents:-   
Power & Control circuits; Study, Testing & Maintenance of Pilot devices & Timers;
Development of Control circuits for control of Squirrel Cage, Slip ring and double speed induction motors
Starters: DOL, Star-delta starters (manual, semiautomatic, automatic)
Interlocking sequence; Safety considerations in control circuits; Troubleshooting of Control Circuits.
PRACTICALS:-
Practicals are conducted on Laybold Instrumentation Panel.

AC ELECTRIC MOTORS- OPERATION & MAINTENANCE

Course contents:-
Three Phase Motors: Squirrel Cage Induction Motors, Slip ring induction motors, double squirrel cage induction motors, synchronous motor; Single phase motors: Capacitor induction motor, repulsion motor, universal motor, shaded pole motor; Types of enclosures; Motor Protection; Power factor.
Testing, troubleshooting & Maintenance of AC Motors and controls.
PRACTICALS:-
Practicals are conducted on Laybold Instrumentation Panel & Motor Fault Simulator

 AC/DC  DRIVE

Course contents:-
AC Drives: Basics of AC Drives, Installation, Commissioning, System parameters, Parameterization, Faults & Alarms, Trouble Shooting.
DC Drives: Basic construction & Working, Installation, Start up, Faults/Alarms, Maintenance.
Applications.
PRACTICALS:-
Practicals are conducted on SIEMENS make Convertor, Siemens Micromaster (MM440) AC Drive, ABB make ACS 800 AC Drive & Siemens DC Drive 6RA70

AC MOTOR CONTROLS (ADVANCED)

Course Contents:
Manual/automatic control operation, Wiring Diagrams, Ladder Diagrams, Line diagrams; Motor starting methods; contactors, Pilot Devices, Control relays, Timing Relays; Motor Protection: Overload relays, Single phasing preventors, Braking; Modern trends in control of motors-drives, programmable logic controllers.
Troubleshooting Control Circuits
Development of ladder diagrams for control of motors.
PRACTICALS:-
Practicals are conducted on Laybold Instrumentation Panel & Siemens make LOGO PLC.
