Course Contents :-

Introduction, principle, methods & industrial application of Acidimetry, Alkalimetry, Iodometry, redox, precipitation & complexo metric  titration.

Introduction, principle, method, instrumention & industrial application of Potentionetry, Conductometry, Electrogravimetry, Viscosity, Refractometry, colorimetriy, Ion-selective meters, EC-TDS meter, moisture balance, flash point apparatus pour-point & cloud point apparatus , D.O meter.
Practicals :-
Det. of percent purity of acids, caustic soda, caustic potash, washing soda, baking soda, liquor ammonia, vinegar, H2O2, Pyrolusite, red lead, copper scrapes, mild steel ,solder alloy & acid & sapvalue of oil.
Handling of the instrument viz: pH-meter, Conductometer, ion-selective meter, EC-TDS meter, Viscometer,Refractometer, Electrolytic analyzer, Moisture balance, Air oven, vacuum oven, Flash point apparatus & cloud-pour point apparatus.

SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC METHODS OF ANALYSIS.

Course Contents :-
Introduction, principle, absorption & emission spectrum, molecular-interaction, Beer-Lambertd Law, Instrumentation, Methods of estimation & industrial application of Polarimetery, Colorimetry, Spectrophotometry, Nephelometry, Flame photometry & Fluorometry.
Practicals  :-
Analysis of various samples for the estimation of metals, non-metals, optically active compounds & vitamins using Colorimeter, Visible Spectrophometer, UV visible spectrophotometer ,Nephelometer , Flame photometer , Fluorometer andpolarimeter.

WATER AND EFFLUENT ANALYSIS

Course Conteints :-
Physical examination of sample comprising colour,Odor, pH, Conductance & Turbidity.
Chemical examination of sample viz: determination of Alkalinity, Acidity, Solids, Hardness, Sodium, Potassium, Calcium, Lithium, Iron, Chloride, Sulphate, Nitrites, Phosphates, D.O.,B.O.D. & C.O.D.
Practicals :-
Analysis of the samples by Volumetric & Instrumental techniques to carry out about thirty  estimation using methods of Bureau of Indian Standards(BIS) & American Public Health Association (APHA).

ANALYSIS BY GAS CHROMATOGRAPHY

Course Conteints :- Introduction to Instrumental Methods & analysis.
Introduction & types of Chromatography.
Introduction, Principle, instrumentation, separations & temperature programing of gas chromatography.
Technical aspects of column pertaining to  types, selection, HETP liquid & solid phases & its preparation.
Details on detectors viz: types, characteristics, selection, construction and   working of FID,ECD, NPD & TCD.
Practicals :-Measurement of flow rate.
Analysis of  8-10 samples comprising mixture of alcohols, hydrocarbon, haloalkanes, ketones etc. in  binary, tertiarty & quaternary or more combination including temperature programing.
