Q1. What are courses conducted by NSTI Mumbai ?
Long Term Courses : Craft Instructor Training Program for trainees who have passed ITI and pursue to become Instructor in ITI s . Courses are of 1 year duration with 2 semesters of 6 month each.
Short Term AVTS Courses: Advanced Vocational Training Scheme (AVTS) is to upgrade and update the skills of the serving industrial workers to specialize in their field of work. Advanced Vocational Training Scheme (AVTS) ensures that the individual’s skills and competencies improve along with changing technology and skill requirements. It also ensures the personal and career development of individual and results in increase in aggregate productivity .
Q2. What is the admission procedure for Crafts Instructor Courses (CITS) ?
Admission into Craft Instructor Training courses will be made through All India Common Entrance Test (AICET) . The AICET common entrance test will be conducted through ONLINE (computer based) : Duration: 2 Hrs, objective type questions [multiple-choice] in which 75% related to the trade applied - ITI level and 25% questions pertaining to Aptitude - Logical, Numeric and Reasoning) which will be held at different centers across the country.
Q3. What is the admission procedure for Short term AVTS courses ?
Participant may sent duly filled Application Form ( AVTS) to Director – NSTI Mumbai address by Post OR By Hand at least 30 days before starting of course. NSTI Mumbai will send Confirmation Letter. Registration Fee & Course Fee to be deposited at time of Admission only .
Q4. Who can attend AVTS Short term Courses ?
Candidates having Degree/ Diploma in relevant branch of Engineering or NTC/NAC in relevant technical Trade or candidates sponsored by Industry.
Q5. Whether Courses conducted at NSTI Mumbai is Full time or Part Time ?
All Courses Conducted by NSTI Mumbai are full time courses .
Q6. How to pay the fees of Long term and short term courses ?
Course fee has to be paid in advance or at the time of admission in demand draft in favour of " PAO MSDE MUMBAI “of any Nationalized bank payable at Mumbai or by Cash at the Institue.
Q7. Whether hostel and mess facilities available for AVTS candidates ?
Limited Hostel Rooms with common facility for participants of short term courses .Hostel Rooms are moderately furnished , used to allot trainees on twin or triple sharing basis with a rent of Rs 100/- per day . Guest and Family members are not permitted in Hostel . Cooking is Strictly prohibited in Hostel Room. Mess Facilities available at Hostel . It is managed by a private contractor . Necessary payment has to be made in cash directly to the contractor.
Q8. What is Tailor made Course ?
Tailor made courses are need based training for industries, as per requirement of the industries on their request utilizing the existing infrastructure of the institute. Course contents and schedule of TMC is decided in consultation with industry.
